Furnace Replacement

Most furnaces last 15 to 20 years. Replacement makes sense when your furnace is near that age, needs a major repair like a heat exchanger or control board, or keeps breaking down.

We size every new furnace to your home with a load calculation. In New Jersey, a rough rule of thumb is 40 to 50 BTUs per square foot, but insulation, windows and layout change the right answer. An oversized furnace short-cycles and wears out early; an undersized one can’t keep up on the coldest days.

Furnace Efficiency (AFUE) Explained

A furnace’s AFUE rating tells you how much of its fuel becomes heat. A 95% AFUE furnace turns 95 cents of every fuel dollar into heat, while older furnaces may be 80% or lower. High-efficiency furnaces also run quieter and heat more evenly, especially with a variable-speed blower. For even lower bills, consider pairing a furnace with a heat pump in a dual fuel system.
