Alfano Mechanical is a licensed HVAC-R contractor based in Fairfield, New Jersey, serving commercial buildings and homes across Northern New Jersey for more than 35 years. In 2023, new ownership acquired the company and has invested in its people, tools and systems. The result combines the reputation of a long-established local contractor with the capabilities of a modern commercial service firm.

• Manufacturer-level understanding. Our leadership started on the manufacturer side of the industry, applying and selecting commercial equipment for engineers and building owners. We understand how systems are designed to perform, not just how to fix them when they don’t.
• Commercial scale. Our team has built and run large commercial HVAC service operations for enterprise, institutional and multi-site clients. We bring the same processes, reporting and accountability to every building we serve.
• Decades in the field. Our licensed master HVAC-R contractor has worked in the trade since the 1980s, and our technicians service every major brand of heating, cooling and refrigeration equipment.
• Brand-agnostic advice. We aren’t tied to one manufacturer, so our recommendations are based on your building, your budget and your long-term costs.

How We Work

We diagnose root causes instead of resetting alarms, price work upfront, and document what we find. Many of our customers run well-seasoned equipment, and we specialize in keeping it efficient and reliable while helping owners plan replacements on their own timeline, not in an emergency. When it is time to upgrade, we deliver complete design-build projects and help customers use PSE&G rebates and financing to lower the cost.

Investing in the Next Generation

As a U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Sponsor, we train the next generation of HVAC-R technicians, and our team completes ongoing training to stay current with new equipment, refrigerants and controls.
